As much as we would love to welcome anyone interested in helping, the number of volunteers who can participate in these scheduled events is limited, and we must have signed waiver sheets two weeks in advance. So please contact our Outreach Coordinator Paul Halvorson at outreach@friendsofhanaumabay.
About Clean Ups
Friends of Hanauma Bay has sponsored quarterly clean ups of the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve since 1991, honoring the longest ‘Adopt a Park’ contract with the City and County of Honolulu of any other organization. When Hanauma Bay reopened to visitors in December 2020 after an almost nine month closure due to the pandemic, Friends of Hanauma Bay resumed our clean ups on a triannual basis.
It has been such a pleasure resuming these clean ups and welcoming back all the individuals, families and organizations who have volunteered their time and effort to help clean beached marine debris and trash at Hanauma Bay over the years. We are also grateful to all the new volunteers who join us in giving back to our treasured Hanauma Bay – e komo mai!
