120th Waikiki Aquarium Happy Birthday Celebration
Happy Birthday!
As the second-oldest aquarium in the United States, the Waikiki Aquarium celebrated its 120th birthday with a two-day celebration on Saturday, March 16th and Tuesday, March 19th, 2024. Friends of Hanauma Bay were invited to participate on Tuesday in the family-friendly event.
Situated on the top level by the monk seal enclosure, FOHB had a two-table showcase for information on mineral sunscreen, environmental pollution and the timeline for its decomposition, two booklets on backyard conservation, child-friendly colorable bookmarks, and the habitat game for marine animals. Families would stop and explore the various items and/or activities while they were educated on FOHB and its objectives and missions. Residents were asked about their visits to the bay, and they were strongly encouraged to come and visit Hanauma Bay.
During the 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. event, 150 people passed through our area.
