SB2571 HD2 (banning the sale of sunscreen containing oxybenzone and octinoxate in Hawaii)

Aloha Friends of Hanauma Bay,

SB2571 HD2 (banning the sale of sunscreen containing oxybenzone and octinoxate will undergo third reading this Tuesday, 10 April, by the Hawai’i House. If it passes, it will move on to Conference. We have much greater support for a ban on sale this year than last year, and the House Finance Chair Rep Luke even moved up the implementation date to 1 July 2019.
It would be great if all of you could email your support to all of the State Representatives today and tomorrow asking them to pass SB2571 HD2.

This email to the following address will reach ALL Representatives.  Just click the email link and it will populate in a new email from you.

Example: Ask them to pass SB2571 HD2 for the good of our reefs and Hanauma Bay.
The November 2017 water sampling of Hanauma Bay measured the highest levels of reef-toxic oxybenzone anywhere in the State of Hawai’i, and this bill will be the single best way to fix the problem.
The effects of stressors in our reefs are cumulative, and this one can be fixed very easily.

Please be creative and respectful, but please email our Representatives. Mahalo.
