Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. In this heartbreaking photo, an albatross parent unknowingly feeds its chick a load of ocean plastic. Marine creatures often ingest plastic because it smells or looks like food, and it fills the stomach while the animal slowly starves. We owe it to our planet and its inhabitants to be more mindful and make lifestyle changes that decrease plastic waste.
