East Honolulu is one step closer to establishing the “Kaiwi Coast State Park”!
On July 6, 2023, Governor Josh Green signed SB1254 into law, enacting Act 235, 2023 which requires the Department of Land and Natural Resources to designate certain land areas as the “Kaiwi Coast State Park.” This is a much welcome step towards the long-term goal of conserving the Kaiwi Coast in perpetuity that many East Honolulu residents have been working towards for almost 50 years.
